HISTORY
Polsinello was founded in 1952 by Lou Polsinello Sr. and Sue Polsinello in Rensselaer, New York. What began as a local heating oil delivery and oil burner service business grew into a diversified regional company supplying heating oil, propane, gasoline, diesel fuel, motor oils and lubricants.
Beginning in the 1980s, the second generation of the Polsinello family continued that growth. Under the leadership of Louis Polsinello Jr., who served as president from 1981 through 2019, the family expanded the company’s operations to include convenience stores and truck stops while strengthening its fuel and lubricant distribution capabilities.
Between 2018 and 2020, Polsinello completed a significant strategic transformation. The company divested its fuel delivery and other business segments and emerged as Polsinello Lubricants, with a singular focus on serving motor oil, lubricant and diesel exhaust fluid customers. Today, the company is led by the third generation of the Polsinello family and remains guided by the principles on which it was founded: personal accountability, dependable service and lasting customer relationships.
Polsinello has continued to grow through strategic investment and acquisition. The 2022 acquisition of Williams Lubricants expanded the company’s distribution capabilities and service presence in Pennsylvania. Most recently, the acquisition of Superior Lubricants brought together two established family businesses with shared commitments to customer service, technical expertise and reliable delivery.
Polsinello Today
With the aquisition of Superior Lubricants, Polsinello has grown from five to seven distribution locations, expanding its warehouse capacity, delivery fleet and ability to serve customers throughout the Northeast. Superior’s experienced employees have joined the Polsinello team, adding decades of local market knowledge, technical expertise and valued customer relationships.
Customers now benefit from a stronger regional distribution network, increased delivery capacity and access to a broader portfolio of leading lubricant brands. The expanded organization is better positioned to support customers with multiple locations, growing operations and increasingly complex product and service requirements.
Polsinello provides motor oils, industrial lubricants, greases, coolants and diesel exhaust fluid, supported by services that include oil analysis, storage and dispensing equipment, tank monitoring and inventory management. Its multi-location, multi-brand model gives customers greater product choice and the flexibility to receive consistent service as their businesses grow.
More than seven decades after its founding, Polsinello remains family-owned and operated. The company combines the resources, reach and expertise of a growing regional distributor with the responsiveness and personal accountability of a family business.
Seven locations. Three generations. One commitment to helping customers move forward.
